About Families Plus Families Plus is a nonprofit behavioral health organization serving children, youth, and families in Delta and Montrose Counties. Our mission is to empower children facing challenges to grow into healthy, productive adults by providing comprehensive behavioral health services. Families Plus provides wraparound support, behavioral health therapy, skill-building activities, parent support, transportation support, resource navigation, and advocacy for families facing complex challenges. Our team works closely with families, schools, community partners, and local agencies to help youth and caregivers build stability, confidence, connection, and long-term success. Job Description Families Plus is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and family-centered Parent and Youth Partner to join a team of providers working directly with children, youth, and families. The Parent and Youth Partner supports both caregivers and youth. This role helps parents navigate systems, access resources, advocate for their children, and build skills that support long-term family stability. This role also works directly with youth by building positive relationships, providing transportation when needed, supporting skill-building activities, encouraging healthy choices, and helping youth connect with safe, supportive experiences in the community. This position is full-time, up to 40 hours per week. There is some flexibility in creating your own work schedule, but availability will largely depend on when families and youth are available to meet. The Parent and Youth Partner must be comfortable meeting with families and youth by phone and in person, working one-on-one or in small group settings, and occasionally transporting clients in their own vehicle. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Responsibilities Include Build supportive, trusting, and appropriate relationships with youth and families. Work directly with youth to support personal growth, positive decision-making, confidence, and connection to healthy activities. Provide transportation for youth and families when needed, including transportation to appointments, meetings, school-related activities, skill-building activities, or other essential supports. Support and participate in skill-building activities with youth, including activities that promote social skills, healthy relationships, emotional regulation, community connection, life skills, and positive interests. Refer and link clients to needed community and natural resources to support family functioning. Provide role modeling of effective advocacy for parents, caregivers, children, and youth in the community. Help parents complete forms and paperwork that may be confusing or create barriers to accessing services. Help parents get to appointments and meetings after the parent has tried and been unable to find transportation to attend essential meetings. Model how to reach out for services and advocate for a child, then gradually fade support as parents build confidence and take the lead in advocating for themselves and their families. Support youth in identifying strengths, goals, interests, and safe community connections. Work as part of a team to support family goals and individualized service plans. Document all contacts with and for the family or youth in the medical record on the same day the contact occurred or within 24 hours. Sign all documentation contacts. Keep all client information confidential as required by HIPAA, federal law, and Families Plus policies and procedures. This obligation continues even after employment ends. Utilize various software applications as needed. Meet Families Plus charting requirements. Notes are due within 24 hours of direct service or contact with the family, child, or youth. Complete other specific duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Applicants must meet one of the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, human services, education, counseling, family studies, or a related field. Current Qualified Behavioral Health Assistant, or QBHA, certification. Eligibility for QBHA certification. QBHA eligibility requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year, or 12 months, of experience in a client-facing or patient-facing role within the behavioral health field. Strongly Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish is very strongly preferred. Experience working directly with children, youth, parents, caregivers, or families facing complex needs. Experience supporting youth through mentoring, coaching, skill-building, behavioral health support, education, case management, youth programming, or similar work. Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills. Ability to maintain healthy boundaries while providing compassionate support. Comfort working with community partners, schools, human services, and other local agencies. Comfort engaging youth in positive activities and building appropriate, supportive relationships. Lived experience navigating family systems, behavioral health, child welfare, education, or community resources is valued. Additional Requirements Must be able to utilize various software applications. Must be able to meet Families Plus charting requirements. Must be comfortable driving clients in your own vehicle occasionally. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and appropriate auto insurance. Must be flexible and able to meet with families and youth over the phone and in person. Must be comfortable working one-on-one or in a small group setting. Must be able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality when working with children, youth, and families. Pay is based on job skills and past experience.
