Park Maintenance Worker

Schedule Monday through Friday7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Position Summary Hobart Township is seeking a dependable and motivated individual for a full-time Park Maintenance position. This employee will assist with maintaining township parks, grounds, buildings, and public spaces to ensure they remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors. This position involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions and requires the operation of landscaping and maintenance equipment. Duties and Responsibilities Mow grass, trim weeds, edge sidewalks, and maintain landscaped areas Clean parks, playgrounds, shelters, restrooms, and township properties Pick up trash and empty waste receptacles Perform minor repairs and general maintenance duties Operate lawn equipment, trimmers, blowers, and other maintenance tools safely Assist with seasonal work including snow removal and salting Help prepare township properties for community events and activities Report safety hazards, vandalism, or maintenance concerns Follow township safety procedures and workplace policies Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Valid Indiana driver's license preferred Prior landscaping, groundskeeping, or maintenance experience is helpful but not required Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Dependable attendance and strong work ethic required Benefits Paid holidays and paid time off Government retirement and benefits package available Stable weekday schedule Work Environment This position requires physical labor including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and operating equipment for extended periods of time.
