Parks Laborer - Summer Help

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and a passion for outdoor work, contributing to various landscape, mowing and maintenance projects. This role involves physical labor and the use of hand tools, light equipment and machinery, requiring both teamwork and individual initiative to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. Responsibilities Mowing, weedeating, tree trimming and other maintenance of parks, lakes, cemetary and city property. Perform landscape maintenance tasks including planting, weeding, and watering gardens. Operate hand tools and equipment for tasks such as tree trimming, hardscaping, and general yard upkeep. Assist in the irrigation of plants and lawns to promote healthy growth. Participate in tree care activities, ensuring proper pruning and maintenance. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and tools, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. Requirements Current Drivers license and lives within USD 487 school district boundary or within 15 miles of Herington city limits. Previous experience in landscape maintenance or related fields is preferred but not required. Familiarity with hand tools and mechanical knowledge is a plus. Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Knowledge of irrigation systems and landscape care techniques is desirable. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Willingness to learn new skills related to landscaping and maintenance tasks. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
