- PARKS Opening Date 05/19/2026 Description Benefits Questions Job Summary Job Description The Town of Ocean City is now hiring Seasonal Parks Workers.
Responsibilities include:
performs duties in turf care, park construction projects, landscape maintenance and town events. Under minimal supervision, performs various tasks using hand & power operated tools; a variety of small gas/ diesel powered, electrically driven, and or hydraulically operated equipment and machinery. Drives, operates and trains on equipment used by Parks staff.Position Details:

Responsible for overseeing the general appearance of the assigned park(s) and public grounds areas along with maintenance and preparation of the athletic fields and recreation sites Assists in planting and aftercare of flowers, shrubs and trees Responsible for determining, reporting and assisting to correct any safety hazards located in assigned park(s) Assists with preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles, machinery, mowers, tools and equipment Assists laying out and lining all types of athletic fields Assists with recreation programs and special events preparation Responsible for picking up litter and emptying trash receptacles Provides custodial services at maintenance building Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma orGED PREFERRED
Three months related experience or training Experience using vehicles equipped with a pedal operated clutch and four speed manual transmissionCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Valid driver's license. Supplemental InformationLANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic knowledge of turf care, landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills are desirable.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
