Summary of Job Duties:

The Part-time Adult Education ESL Teacher works under the supervision of the Director of Adult Education and will be responsible for providing instruction to individuals with a variety of personal goals, including: learning to speak the English language, improving basic skills, gaining digital literacy skills, acquiring financial literacy skills, and/or earning a GED credential. This part-time position is assigned to the UACCM Adult Education facility in Conway. The 28-hour per week work schedule consist of daytime and evening hours. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1.Provide instruction to adults whose native language is not English. 2.Teach basic skills/concepts in reading, language, and mathematics. 3.Build instructional activities around the four interdependent components of reading: alphabetic, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. 4.Administer the

assessment for pre and post-test purposes. 5.Provide a variety of instructional deliveries including individualized instruction, small group instruction, and whole class instruction. 6.Facilitate learning with textbooks, workbooks, lectures, computer based educational programs, audio/visual aids, hands-on activities, and peer tutors. 7.Assist students with the development of digital literacy skills. 8.Provide learning activities designed to enhance financial literacy skills. 9.Collaborate with students to document long and short-term goals based upon identified career pathways. 10.Provide students with progress reports and update individual learning plans on a consistent basis. 11.Maintain accurate student attendance records. 12.Participate in professional development activities as required. 13.Participate in staff meetings. 14.Other duties as assigned.
