Part-Time Apartment Maintenance Technician

Shimer Square Apartments is seeking a reliable Part-Time Apartment Maintenance Technician to support maintenance operations at our apartment community in Mount Carroll, IL. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on maintenance experience, is organized, takes pride in quality work, and can respond quickly to maintenance needs. The technician will complete work orders, unit turns, basic repairs, preventative maintenance, and emergency maintenance needs as they arise.

Responsibilities include:

Complete resident maintenance work orders in a timely and professional manner Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs Assist with unit turns, including basic repairs, cleaning support, flooring removal or installation support, and make-ready tasks Troubleshoot basic HVAC and water heater issues Maintain common areas, grounds, and building exterior areas as needed Identify maintenance issues and communicate them promptly to management Participate in emergency maintenance coverage as needed Follow company safety procedures and maintain a professional appearance while on-site Qualified candidates should have: Prior maintenance experience Apartment maintenance experience preferred Basic knowledge of HVAC, water heaters, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs Ability to remove carpet and complete flooring installation Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Basic tools required EPA or HVAC certification preferred, but not required Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Pay:

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour
