About Us:
Seeds Academy is looking for a creative, patient, and responsible ceramic teacher to join our team. We offer art and STEM enrichment classes for children and teens in a supportive and hands-on learning environment.
Position Overview:
We are hiring a part-time ceramic teacher who can teach both hand building and wheel throwing to kids and teens. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young students, can guide beginners step by step, and is able to create fun, age-appropriate ceramic projects.
Responsibilities:
Teach ceramic classes for children and teens Lead students in hand-building projects such as pinch pots, coil building, slab work, sculpture, and functional pieces Teach basic to intermediate wheel throwing techniques Prepare class materials, tools, and project examples Help students understand clay handling, shaping, trimming, glazing, and studio safety Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom/studio environment Support students with different skill levels and encourage creativity Communicate with staff about class progress, supplies, and student needs
Requirements:
Experience teaching ceramics, art, or working with children Strong skills in both hand building and wheel throwing Patient, responsible, and good with kids and teens Able to work Friday and Saturday afternoons Comfortable managing a small group class Knowledge of glazing and kiln process is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching in an art studio, school, after-school program, or summer camp Art degree or ceramics-related training is a plus, but not required Bilingual English/Chinese is a plus, but not required
Pay:
$30.00•$40.00 per hour
