Part-time Custodian

Position Summary:

The Part-Time Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for church members, staff, and visitors. This role supports the church's mission by ensuring that all facilities are well-kept and prepared for worship services, events, and daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Follow an established daily/weekly/monthly cleaning chart Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the facility and dispose of waste properly Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors in all designated areas Perform general housekeeping tasks such as dusting, wiping surfaces, and spot-cleaning walls and windows Set up and break down rooms for services, meetings, and special events (tables, chairs, equipment, etc.) Monitor and restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed Report maintenance or repair needs to appropriate staff

Qualifications:

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods Detailed knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Reliability and consistent attendance Respectful and professional demeanor in a church environment

Schedule:

Approximately 20 hours per week

Work Environment:

Indoor work within church buildings, with outdoor responsibilities (e.g., trash removal, sidewalks, etc.) Interaction with church staff, volunteers, and congregation members

Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience This role is essential in creating a clean and inviting space where the church community can gather, worship, and continue to grow.
