Job Description
Position:
DDA DirectorSummary The City of Manchester is seeking a dynamic and community-focused professional to serve as its part-time DDA Director. This position is responsible for coordinating and implementing downtown revitalization efforts, supporting local businesses, and advancing the goals of the Downtown Development Authority in alignment with the City's strategic vision. The DDA Director works under the direction of the City Manager and in collaboration with the DDA Board, local stakeholders, and community partners. Supervision Received Work is performed under the supervision of the City Manager. Responsibilities and Duties An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties: (These examples do not include all duties which the employee may be expected to perform.) Downtown Development & Revitalization Implement DDA programs, projects, and initiatives that promote economic vitality and historic preservation. Support downtown business recruitment, retention, and expansion efforts. Assist in the development and execution of strategic and economic development plans. Program & Project Management Coordinate and manage downtown improvement projects, events, and promotions. Track and report on program outcomes, metrics, and progress toward goals. Lead the DDA in the application process for becoming a Select-level Michigan Main Street Program. Board & Committee Support Serve as staff liaison to the DDA Board and related committees. Prepare meeting agendas, reports, and minutes in coordination with the City Manager. Ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners, property owners, residents, and community organizations. Act as a primary point of contact for downtown-related inquiries and initiatives. Foster partnerships with regional economic development organizations and tourism entities. Marketing & Communications Promote downtown Manchester through marketing campaigns, social media, and community outreach. Coordinate branding and promotional efforts consistent with Main Street principles. Support event planning and execution to drive foot traffic and community engagement. Administrative & Financial Support Assist in developing and managing the DDA budget in coordination with the City Manager. Identify and pursue grant opportunities and other funding sources. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation of DDA activities. Employment Qualifications 1-3 years of relevant experience in downtown development, DDA programs, economic development, or municipal administration (preferred). Experience with social media and computer programs such as Word and Excel (preferred). Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.Pay:
