Job Description

Position Summary Yeshiva Har Torah is looking for a caring, committed, and energetic First Grade General Studies Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year . This role is part-time , and involves teaching literacy and math to either one first-grade class. The hours are 8:00AM to 12:30PM Monday through Thursday, and 8:00AM to 11:00AM on Fridays. The ideal educator will cultivate a warm, engaging space that encourages curiosity, joy in learning, and strong foundational academic growth. Primary Responsibilities Deliver early literacy instruction with an emphasis on phonics, reading comprehension, and writing skills . Plan and teach math lessons that strengthen number sense, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Create a developmentally appropriate, student-focused classroom that supports both learning and social-emotional development. Incorporate a range of instructional methods, such as hands-on activities, small group work , and differentiated instruction. Monitor student learning through both formal and informal assessments , offering constructive and relevant feedback. Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success. Maintain strong, ongoing communication with families to support each child's academic journey. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related area ( Master's degree preferred ). Prior teaching experience in early elementary grades is preferred. Solid understanding of early literacy development and math instruction. Demonstrated ability to establish a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment. Strong classroom management and communication abilities. A passion for learning, teamwork, and continued professional development. Pay:
$35,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
