Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time Medical Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in diverse medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital environments, and emergency care centers. You will be the vital link between patients and healthcare providers, ensuring smooth operations while delivering compassionate support. Your multitasking skills and medical knowledge will help create a welcoming environment that promotes healing and well-being for every patient you serve. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure accurate documentation. Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and assisting with skin biopsy, patch testing, chemical peels, etc. Support physicians and providers in administering medications, injections, or basic life support during emergencies or routine care. Receive training on and maintain thorough documentation within AthenaHealth Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures. Assist with specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical tasks aligned with your physiology knowledge and clinic protocols. Manage medical supplies inventory, sterilize equipment, and ensure compliance with safety standards across inpatient, outpatient, or trauma center settings. Qualifications Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in settings such as dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics. Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient care. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is optional; additional certification in emergency medicine are a plus. Ability to perform clinical duties such as taking vital signs, assisting with medication administration, and supporting outpatient procedures. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and medical-surgical patients. Some experience in EHR systems for documentation; some knowledge of ICD coding is helpful. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a real difference!
