Overview Foxborough Regional Charter School District (FRCS) is a unique and diverse school serving students from across Southeastern Massachusetts. The Occupational Therapist (OT) conducts comprehensive evaluations and provides direct and consultative occupational therapy services to identified students in classroom, small group, and individual settings. The Occupational Therapist supports students in developing the fine motor, sensory-motor, visual-motor, self-regulation, adaptive, and functional skills necessary to access the educational environment and participate successfully in school activities. The Occupational Therapist collaborates closely with special education staff, general education teachers, related service providers, families, and administrators to support student access to the curriculum and progress toward Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. The OT also provides consultation, modeling, and recommendations regarding accommodations, adaptive equipment, sensory supports, and classroom strategies that promote student independence and participation within inclusive educational settings. .Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position will: Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations for students referred for fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-regulation, adaptive, and functional skill concerns Interpret assessment results and effectively communicate findings to families and school teams through participation in eligibility determination and IEP meetings Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy interventions aligned with student IEP goals and educational needs Provide direct occupational therapy services to students individually, in small groups, and within classroom settings Support students in developing skills related to fine motor coordination, handwriting, sensory processing, self-care, executive functioning, visual-perceptual skills, and self-regulation Recommend, implement, and monitor adaptive equipment, sensory supports, environmental modifications, and assistive technology as appropriate Collect accurate data to monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and district special education regulations, timelines, and service delivery requirements ProvideRTI/MTSS
support and consultation as needed for at-risk students .Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and administrators to support student success across educational settings Provide consultation and modeling to staff regarding sensory strategies, fine motor development, adaptive techniques, and classroom accommodations Participate as a member of the Student Support Team and other school-based problem-solving teams Communicate consistently and effectively with students, families, staff, and administration regarding student progress and recommendations Collaborate with district occupational therapists and related service providers to evaluate programs, analyze student outcomes, and recommend improvements to service delivery and instructional supports Write and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and related documentation, including progress reports, evaluations, amendments, and service logs Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, progress, evaluations, and services provided Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to student records and servicesGeneral Expectations:
Provide occupational therapy services that support students' ability to access curriculum and participate meaningfully in school and community life as defined by their IEPs and intervention plans Deliver services using developmentally appropriate, evidence-based practices that support diverse learning profiles and student needs Demonstrate flexibility, organization, professionalism, and strong problem-solving skills Manage resources, meet deadlines, and follow through on responsibilities and commitments Act in ways that directly support the mission and vision of FRCS Learn and grow as a professional through ongoing collaboration and professional development Use clear verbal and written communication and active listening skills Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, staff, and community members through professionalism, collaboration, courtesy, and empathy Contribute to collaborative team environments through cooperation, flexibility, and shared problem-solving Maintain high ethical standards, legal responsibility, and confidentiality Demonstrate commitment to anti-bias and anti-racist educational practices Attend building and district meetings, school-sponsored activities, and professional development as required Maintain regular and reliable attendance in alignment with district expectations Demonstrate commitment to anti-bias, anti-racist education Attend building and district meetings to promote communication and mutual decision-making among the staff Attend established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back to School Night, Open House, programs, activities) agreed upon by the building administrator and per the FRCSTA contract Regular attendance is a necessary function; absences should be rare and in alignment with district attendance and punctuality standards Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Student Services or school administration Qualifications -Required:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Therapy or a related field Current Massachusetts licensure as an Occupational Therapist NBCOT certification or eligibility preferred Required to obtain SEI Endorsement within one year of employment if applicable Demonstrated knowledge of occupational therapy assessment tools, intervention strategies, and educational service delivery models Strong assessment, collaboration, communication, and organizational skills Deep commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-bias, anti-racist educational practices Candidates are subject to background checks, including CORI clearance and fingerprinting. Current authorization to work in the United States Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment. Qualifications -Preferred:
Master's Degree preferred Experience working in public, charter, or urban school settings Experience supporting students with sensory processing needs, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and emotional/behavioral challenges Knowledge of assistive technology, sensory integration strategies, adaptive equipment, and inclusive practices Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex student needs effectively Proficiency in multiple languages reflecting the diversity of the student populationWork Environment & Physical Requirements:
The majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Regular attendance is a necessary function; absences should be rare and in alignment with district attendance and punctuality standardsPhysical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, lift, or carry.Position Type:
