Part time pastry assistant

Overview We are currently seeking a part time pastry assistants/ pastry interns for a temporary role in our fine dining restaurant. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are actively seeking a profession in pastry/ baking who would like to learn and practice hands on in an award winning restaurant. Candidates will learn plating techniques and assist the Head Pastry Chefs with some light preparation/ organization. Candidates must be punctual, organized and ready to learn and have fun with a great team. Paid training is provided. Responsibilities Plating/ serving desserts to customers during dinner service. Service Station set up and Close at the beginning and end of the shifts. Using creativity and proper techniques to ensure visually appealing presentation. Support pastry department processes by measuring ingredients, and properly storing baked goods. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace in compliance with food safety regulations. Ability to multi task, stand for long periods of time and work well under pressure. Have a passion for dessert and baked goods! Skills Experience in pastry making, baking, or related culinary roles within the food industry (restaurant service is a plus). Skilled in cake decorating techniques and creative presentation styles. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail. Experience with packaging baked goods.
