Job Description

Granada Preparatory School is seeking a part-time (up to 24 hours per week) Preschool through Eighth Grade Music Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Granada Preparatory School (GPS) is an International Baccalaureate World School that develops lifelong learners driven by inquiry and international-mindedness. We foster a strong, inclusive community that honors diverse cultures, perspectives, traditions, and beliefs, cultivating compassionate, caring leaders prepared for continued academic success and meaningful lives beyond the classroom.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent professional experience Valid Teaching certificate preferred but not required Experienced musician capable of teaching songwriting, music theory, music production The ideal candidate is comfortable working across a wide age range and brings experience creating structured, joyful learning environments for young musicians. Being a part-time position, GPS will work with the educator to accommodate other positions, graduate school schedules, etc. This position plays a pivotal role in introducing students to the joys of music and cultivating their musical abilities. You will design and deliver engaging music lessons that align with our International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) and encourage creativity and self-expression. Creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere where students can explore various aspects of music, develop their skills, and appreciate different genres, multicultural perspectives, and appreciate musical traditions from diverse communities is central to your responsibilities.
