Part-Time Plant Grower / Greenhouse Assistant

About Us We are a specialty plant business focused on growing, propagating, and selling high-quality and rare houseplants. While working with plants can be peaceful and rewarding, we operate in a fast-paced environment where efficiency matters. We're looking for someone who enjoys the calm of plant care but can also move with urgency and purpose to help us scale. Responsibilities Propagate plants (cuttings, node propagation, etc.) Maintain greenhouse conditions (watering, humidity, lighting, airflow, pest management) Monitor plant health and proactively identify issues Assist in organizing and optimizing greenhouse layout for efficiency and scaling Prepare plants for sale (cleaning, staging, labeling, quality control) Track inventory and support organization systems Research & Optimization (Key Part of Role) Identify optimal growing conditions (humidity, substrate, lighting, etc.) Test and refine propagation and care methods Stay up to date on best practices and bring new ideas to the team Help improve overall greenhouse output, speed, and plant quality

Research how to grow new and trending plant varieties (e.g., Anthuriums, Alocasias, Begonias etc.) Work Environment & Expectations This is a laid-back but high-output environment. While the setting is calm and plant-focused, the work itself requires: Moving at a steady, efficient pace throughout your shift Staying focused and productive without constant supervision Understanding that margins are tight, so time and efficiency matter Balancing quality care with speed and consistency The Ideal Candidate Curious and proactive—enjoys learning and experimenting Detail-oriented but also efficient Able to take initiative and improve systems Comfortable working independently in a greenhouse environment Qualifications Experience with houseplants or greenhouse work preferred Strong understanding of plant care basics Ability to research and apply findings (practically) Physically able to lift, bend, and work in a greenhouse setting Reliable and self-motivated Bonus Skills Experience with rare or collector plants Knowledge of pest management and prevention Experience scaling propagation or production systems Compensation $22-$35 depending on experience Opportunity for growth and increased responsibility as the business expands
