Location:
Special Education and Preschool Seeking a Speech Language Pathologist / Job Coach / Diagnostician for a part-time position beginning the 2026-27 school year. This position is a certified 0.7 - 135 day contract. Must have KY teaching certification for speech/communication disorders and/or American Speech and Hearing Association certification in Speech-Language Pathology.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Conduct speech, language and hearing screens to aid the school in identifying potential barriers to learning. Consults with staff to provide intervention strategies to address these barriers within the regular education program. Administers, scores and interprets assessments of communication functioning for students referred for testing by the Admissions and Release Committee (ARC). Provides the ARC with a written report of communication functioning which compiles and organizes evaluation data in a clear and concise format for the purpose of establishing students' eligibility for specially designed instruction and related services. Guides the ARC through the process of examining the evaluation data and applying criteria for determining a students' eligibility for specially designed instruction and related services. Provides the ARC with data to be used as a basis for developing an individualized education program that will meet the student's unique instructional needs in communication functioning. Guides the ARC through the process of developing an individualized education program to address communication deficits when eligibility criteria is met. Consults with classroom teachers to modify and/or adapt curriculum, materials and instructional strategies in the regular or special education classroom to address communication deficits interfering with learning. Documents that as a component of the individualized education program or instructional modification (remedial) plan. Provides direct and/or collaborative therapy in the regular, special education and/or speech resource room as specified on student's individualized education program. Supports Social-Pragmatics, Safety & Advocacy, AAC Support, and Functional Communication to help bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace requirements. Collaborates with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student communication needs. Monitors caseload for completion of evaluations, annual review, temporary placements and trial placements within specified timelines. Provides career exploration and pre-job development activities to the student to explore career interests and various job possibilities in the community while supporting functional communication. Maintains accurate confidential student records and documentation. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations. Perform other related SLP services as assigned. Additional Duties Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Special Education.
