Full Job Description Position Overview:
This position is responsible for promoting, selling, and retaining membership commitments and programming for Visit Jefferson Parish. The role communicates the value and benefits of membership to prospective and existing partners while identifying, developing, and executing partner engagement initiatives. Responsibilities include sales and managing all membership‑related administrative functions, including membership and prospective member databases; coordinating partner orientation, educational, and networking programs; and serving as a liaison to the Membership Committee, a liaison to the hospitality industry and Visit Jefferson Parish partners. This position also manages and supervises the Partner Services Coordinator. This position requires working collaboratively in a team environment while handling information in a reliable and confidential manner. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who is highly motivated, skilled in sales, enthusiastic, and organized; has knowledge of Jefferson Parish including familiarity with its communities, cultural assets, and culinary offerings. Responsibilities & Duties Plan, develop, and execute membership sales initiatives with a strong focus on direct sales and retention. Activities include outreach to prospective members, clear communication of membership benefits, and consistent follow-up to secure new memberships. Oversee all aspects of membership sales, service, and retention, including the enrollment and ongoing support of members participating in the Louisiana Oyster Trail Marketing Program. Maintain accurate member records in the CRM system (Tempest iDSS), including membership dues, account status, invoicing, website/guide listings, and benefit programming. Supervise and manage all aspects of the Partner Services Coordinator position. Collaborate with the Partner Services Coordinator to ensure members receive full access to benefits, including Extranet access and training. Establish, sell (where applicable), and coordinate member programming such as the Louisiana Oyster Trail Marketing Program, Foodie Feast Restaurant Week. Establish and coordinate member orientations, member meetings, and other engagement activities, in collaboration with the Partner Services Coordinator and the Festivals & Events Manager. Track membership sales and retention and provide monthly reporting in accordance with the annual marketing, sales, and business plan. Create and execute the bi‑annual membership survey. Serve as liaison to the Visit Jefferson Parish Membership Committee, the hospitality industry and the Visit Jefferson Parish partners. Coordinate with the VP of Marketing/COO on membership committee meetings, correspondence, and meeting minutes. Maintain a working knowledge of the bureau's goals, objectives, and membership benefits; reviewing annually and recommending changes to dues, services, or benefits as needed Perform physical activities for extended periods, including computer work, keyboarding, telephone use, and sitting or standing. Work evenings and weekends as required. Lift, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Perform other duties and projects assigned. Reports to the
VP of Marketing/COO Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in sales (membership sales preferred), partner relations, or a related field. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate the value of membership to diverse audiences. Knowledge of Jefferson Parish including familiarity with its communities, cultural assets, and culinary offerings to effectively promote membership benefits and engage prospective members. Experience managing relationships with partners, stakeholders, or committees. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage databases and administrative processes. Demonstrates the ability to speak one-on-one, or to a larger audience. Ability to work independently as a self‑starter while contributing effectively to a team environment. Supervisory or management experience preferred. Professional discretion and ability to handle confidential information. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
