GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK

The Parts Professional is responsible for maintaining inventory, purchasing and issuing parts to over the counter customers and garage service personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS

Assisting customers with their needs (either in-person or via telephone). Operating computer and paper cataloging systems and processing daily paperwork and forms. Effectively communicating features and benefits to customers. Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as presenting professional conduct and appearance at all times. Adhering to company policies and procedures.

Customer-related:

Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner. Let customers who are waiting in line know that they will be helped soon.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

General knowledge of vehicle mechanical operations. Sales experience preferred. Professional personal appearance. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Forklift Operations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or the equivalent. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Two years of experience in a dealership position preferred Forklift experience preferred, will provide training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

Position requires stooping, bending and moving throughout the parts department. May lift up to 70 pounds occasionally. Works with customers for most of the shift. Will work with a Computer System. He/she will be exposed to noise, vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must possess valid Vermont Drivers License.

The Body Shop / Sprinter Manager will evaluate performance on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities.
