Pastry is Art, a high-volume retail and wholesale bakery, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pastry Chef to lead our operations. With a team of 26 employees, this role requires a hands-on leader with a proven track record in pastry production, cake decorating, and team management. The Pastry Chef will oversee all bakery operations, ensuring exceptional product quality and efficiency, while fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Fluency in Spanish is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
Oversee the daily operations of Pastry is Art's pastry production for both retail and wholesale clients. Ensure timely production and delivery of high-quality baked goods, desserts, and pastries to meet customer demands.
Menu and Product Development:
Develop and maintain an innovative selection of products, including cakes, pastries, and other baked goods, tailored to market trends and customer preferences. Create visually stunning and delicious cakes and desserts, ensuring excellence in presentation and taste.
Team Leadership and Development:
Manage, train, and mentor a team of 26 employees, fostering skill development and teamwork. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure adherence to production schedules. Communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking team members.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Maintain consistent quality standards across all products. Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Inventory and Budget Management:
Monitor and control inventory levels for ingredients and supplies. Manage production costs, minimizing waste while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the General Manager and other departments to align production with business goals. Assist with planning and execution of seasonal offerings, promotions, and special events.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in pastry and bakery operations, with experience in a high-volume environment. Proven expertise in cake decorating, including custom and specialty cakes. Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising large teams. Fluency in Spanish is required. Culinary degree or certification in pastry arts preferred. Exceptional time management, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Working Conditions:
