Pathology Physician

HCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their West Florida Division is seeking a Pathology Medical Director to be based at HCA Florida Largo Hospital which is located on the coast directly west of Tampa. Pathology Services consists of over 200 board certified multispecialty pathologists and provides professional services to over 100 HCA Healthcare owned hospitals as well as commercial clients. Qualified Candidates:

AP/CP certification is required At least five years of hospital-based experience is preferred Subspecialization in liver/GI is preferred Comfortable with the full scope of AP and CP The successful candidate must work cooperatively within diverse environments, have excellent interpersonal skills, and successfully establish and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, technical staff and referring physicians Volumes approximately 4,000 surgical cases per year, 600 non-gyn cytology cases per year, 2 peripheral smears per day and 1-2 blood bank reviews per week. Active Florida Medical License and/or FCVS is a plus

About HCA Florida Largo Hospital:

Largo has approximately 450 beds with a Transplant Center (kidney, liver and heart). The vast majority of anatomic pathology specimens are GI tract, including pancreatic and liver. Other specimens include a wide variety of cases thoracic, head and neck, urologic and neurologic. Cytology cases consists of effusions, CSF, urine, EBUS, common bile duct brushings, bronchial washings/brushings, and thyroid FNAs.
