Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Patient Access Representative to join our healthcare team, supporting both first and second shift operations at a prominent hospital facility. This role is vital in ensuring smooth patient intake processes, accurate data entry, and efficient communication between patients and medical staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a compassionate approach, and familiarity with medical administrative procedures. Responsibilities Greet patients warmly upon arrival and verify their appointment details with professionalism and courtesy. Collect and accurately input patient information into the hospital's electronic health record system. Obtain necessary insurance information and assist patients with insurance verification processes. Schedule patient appointments efficiently, ensuring minimal wait times and clear communication. Assist patients with completing registration forms and address any questions regarding hospital policies. Maintain confidentiality of patient records in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA. Support billing and coding processes by providing accurate demographic and insurance data. Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient flow throughout the registration process. Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, appointments, or directions. Maintain organized records of patient interactions and administrative documentation. Experience Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare administrative procedures. Experience supporting medical or dental office operations is advantageous. Strong office experience including data entry, scheduling, and customer service skills. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations and team members. Knowledge of medical billing, insurance verification, or electronic health records systems is a plus. Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
