Billing Business Office Full Time/PRN:
Full Time Job Summary The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support within the Billing Business Office. This role focuses on self-pay account follow-up, payment posting, account resolution, and Single Billing Office functions to ensure accurate account management, timely payment processing, and positive patient experiences. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist patients with billing questions and account concerns; Process and post payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately; Maintain detailed documentation of account activity; Perform SBO functions including account review and balance verification; Research and resolve account discrepancies; Work returned mail and update account information; Coordinate with internal departments to resolve issues; Ensure compliance with billing regulations and HIPAA; Maintain productivity and quality standards; Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong customer service and communication skills; Ability to communicate clearly and professionally; Ability to work independently and manage priorities; Strong attention to detail; Proficient computer skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or bachelor's degree in related field preferred; Previous experience in medical billing, collections, or healthcare finance strongly preferred.
