Patient Care Tech Emergency 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 1501 East 10th Street, Atlantic, IA 50022 PRN Cass Health 12 reviews PRN Emergency Department Patient Care Technician (ED PCT) What You'll Do As an Emergency Department Patient Care Technician, you will support the Emergency Department clinical team by providing direct patient care and assisting with both clinical and clerical functions. You'll play an essential role in delivering timely, compassionate, and efficient care to patients of all ages—from neonate to geriatric—while helping ensure smooth communication within the department and across the hospital. In this role, you will: Provide direct patient care and nonprofessional services under the direction of an RN or physician, supporting patient comfort and safety. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and other assistive clinical skills within scope of training. Monitor patients and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the RN. Make frequent patient rounds, identifying and communicating safety hazards or patient needs. Assist with clerical duties and coordinate communication within the Emergency Department. Facilitate effective information exchange between the ED and other hospital departments. Help maintain order, cleanliness, and organization of the unit. Provide outstanding customer service to patients, families, visitors, and team members by utilizing AIDET, hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and prompt response to patient needs. Participate in performance improvement initiatives to support hospital quality goals and outcomes. Attend at least 50% of unit staff meetings to stay informed on department operations and expectations. Perform all other duties as assigned to support Emergency Department operations. Preferred Experience 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience Required Experience Minimum 1 year of experience as a CNA or Paramedic Preferred Licenses Iowa EMTP or Paramedic license Required Licenses & Certifications Documentation of CNA certification or Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Emergency Medical Care Provider BLS certification within six weeks of hire Preferred Education Paramedic course of study from an approved provider What We're Looking For We're seeking a dependable, patientfocused individual who thrives in a fastpaced environment and is committed to teamwork, safety, and highquality emergency care. Required Education Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) training from an approved provider or Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or Completion of an Emergency Medical Care Provider program
