Job Description
Job Details With a commitment to patient and family centered care, the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides designated direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction and supervision of the licensed clinical team members in ways that value the uniqueness of each individual and addresses the physiological, emotional, and social needs of the diversity of patients served by Jefferson Health. May collaborate with all clinical departments (a/k/a/telehealth) and designated staff at the patient's site for the purpose of facilitating and assisting with telehealth encounters between patients and providers. Job Description Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners. Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members. Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment. Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations. Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and answers/responds to patient call light or pages promptly. May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs. May be required, to facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam including the utilization of any required peripheral devices (e.g. electronic stethescope), other technology (e.g. video conferencing equipment) and software (e.g. Epic, Vidyo, etc) ensuring a comprehensive virtual care encounter is conducted.
QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required or preferred. Education- Required High School Diploma/GED Experience
- Preferred Less than 1 year previous nursing assistant or healthcare experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Required Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care needs and their role in interprofessional team.
- Required BLS
- Basic Life Support AHA
- American Heart Association Upon Hire Additional Qualifications LVHN colleagues must successfully complete LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course.
