Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Technician - Level I to join our healthcare team. This role provides essential support to patients across various care settings, including acute, post-acute, outpatient, and long-term care environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Experience with EMR/EHR systems, medical documentation, and a solid understanding of physiology and medical terminology are highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare setting, contributing directly to patient recovery and well-being. Duties Assist with patient assessments, including vital signs, anatomy, and physiology monitoring Support medication administration following proper protocols and aseptic techniques Perform catheter care, wound care, and other basic nursing tasks under supervision Operate EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation Provide personal care including hygiene assistance and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts Support patients with dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, behavioral health needs, and developmental disabilities Assist with patient transfers and mobility using appropriate techniques for safety and comfort Maintain infection control standards in accordance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies Document patient information accurately in medical records and reports Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in various settings such as ICU, PICU, OR, emergency departments, hospice, or behavioral health units Skills Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation is preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques Experience in diverse clinical environments including ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, or post-acute care is advantageous Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and efficiently Skilled in medication administration and catheter care procedures Compassionate caregiving skills tailored to patients with dementia or developmental disabilities Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients of all ages and backgrounds Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times This position is integral to delivering comprehensive patient-centered care across multiple healthcare settings. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a dedication to improving patient outcomes through compassionate service.
