Job Description

Company Overview Cascade Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center specializes in both surgical and non-surgical treatments for a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and disorders. Our dedicated team provides comprehensive care for conditions affecting the shoulder, foot and ankle, elbow and wrist, hips, spine, and sports-related injuries, ensuring patients receive expert diagnosis and treatment. Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Patient Coordinator to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will excel in managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, and supporting clinical operations. This role is essential in delivering exceptional patient service while ensuring smooth administrative workflows within our orthopedic practice. Duties Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing courteous and efficient assistance both in person and over the phone. Schedule appointments, procedures, surgeries and follow-up visits using electronic health record (EHR) systems. Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and demographic data. Assist with medical billing processes by coding procedures accurately using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards. Ensure proper documentation of medical records and maintain confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations. Collaborate with clinical staff to coordinate patient care plans and facilitate communication between providers. Support medical coding activities by applying appropriate codes to optimize billing accuracy and revenue cycle management. Qualifications Prior experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and electronic health record (EHR) systems. Familiarity with medical billing processes including coding (DRG, CPT, ICD-9/10), collections, and insurance claims processing. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and efficient workflow. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Proficiency in medical coding standards and understanding of medical office procedures is desirable. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
