PER DIEM
Radiologic Technologist in a fast paced Orthopedic/Podiatry Clinic. The potential candidate would be providing coverage in Hood River, OR and The Dalles, OR. The ideal candidate will already be licensed in the State of Oregon. Students and new graduates are encouraged to apply.Job Description:
Sets up and operates radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients. Determine patients' x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians. Prepare patients for radiologic examinations by explaining the procedure, removing jewelry and other articles through which x rays cannot pass, and positioning patients so that the parts of the body can be appropriately radiographed. Radiologic technicians must follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure. Positioning patients and selecting exposure factors for various radiologic examinations. Verifying orders and preparing patient and exam room. Performing quality control procedures to ensure equipment is in proper working order. Checks X-rays for clarity of image, and retakes X-rays when needed. Perform Medical Assistant functions as needed including but not limited to rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures etc. Performs Receptionist functions as needed including but not limited to registering new patients to database, checking patients in and/or out, collecting co-pays or other balances as applicable.Required Knowledge, Experience, or Licensure/Registration:
Graduate of two-year course of study at an accredited school of radiological technology preferred. Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) granted by the American Association of Radiologic Technologist. Must possess a current temporary, provisional, general or limited certificate as an X-ray Technician. Radiology license issued by the State of Oregon Knowledge of Radiologic Technology, basic radiation safety and processing equipment.Job Type:
