Patient Registration Associate (Weekends) 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Clayton, GA 30525 Full-time Mountain Lakes Medical Center 49 reviews Full-time Patient Registration Associates are non-clinical healthcare professionals who guide our patients through the simple temporary registration process. Patient Registration Associates work in a variety of settings within our facility. These include, but are not limited to: Emergency Department, Radiology, Infusion, OR, and Surgical/Medical Inpatient Units. Responsibilities Greeting patients as they arrive into the various units of the facility. Entering the name and date of birth into the EMR accurately Printing an armband and verifying the 5 rights of the patient Patient Registration Associates have several different responsibilities when it comes to providing Mountain Lakes Medical Center patients with access to quality care. They ensure that our patients feel comfortable and guided in an efficient way as a top priority. They lead our concept of patient-centered care and aim to make patients treatments and journey as efficient as possible.
These responsibilities include:
Greeting patients as they arrive into the various units of the facility. Registering patients within the appropriate departments. Verifying Insurance, co-pays and deductibles. Collecting insurance deductibles, coinsurance or co-pays from patients. Facilitating patients ease of access into the departments of which the patients need access to. Coordinating and facilitating patient care and communication with physicians, nurses, radiology technicians, laboratory personnel, business office staff, environmental staff and security. Answering phones and triaging messages to the various departments. Utilize a professional, courteous tone of voice in all communication with patients, hospital staff and community contact. Work with law enforcement personnel to facilitate patient care within the various units.•Coordinating appointments/surgical procedures/outpatient procedures with community providers to ensure timely delivery of diagnostic and treatment services. Maintaining communication with patients, survivors, families, and the health care providers to monitor patient satisfaction with their care experience. Ensuring that appropriate medical records are available at scheduled appointments by contacting the medical records department when a patient makes the request. Arranging language translation or interpretation services. Facilitating financial support and helping with paperwork. Facilitating linkages to follow-up services by connecting the patient's needs with the call center and/or other services.
QUALIFICATIONS
•EDUCATION/TRAINING Associate degree preferred. High School diploma, required.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE
Ability to foster an environment that nurtures collaboration, teamwork, and mutual respect. Analytical ability required to evaluate processes and to recommend improvements as necessary Good oral and written communication skills to work with patients, physicians and department staff

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information Ability to communicate effectively on the telephone Ability to relate to persons with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds Ability to handle an "collections" environment: work quickly and multi-task Ability to exercise good judgment to handle calls appropriately Ability to demonstrate good customer service required. Ability to communicate rules on indigent and poverty guidelines Ability to communicate the amounts due to the patient for services rendered Ability to collect monies and post to accounts Ability to communicate with a patient face to face
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•Able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds Sitting both at short intervals and for long periods of time Ability to read and write effectively in English Ability to communicate with employees, physicians, office staff, patients, and visitors Ability to remain calm under stress Walking, reaching stooping and bending
SPECIAL DEMANDS
