Job Description

Overview We are seeking a bilingual (Spanish) detail-oriented and compassionate Patient Registration/Medical Records Clerk to join our healthcare team. This vital role involves managing patient information, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and facilitating smooth registration processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care by maintaining precise and confidential medical records while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Duties Register patients efficiently upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information with accuracy and professionalism. Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR systems) to ensure all patient data is current, complete, and secure. Assist patients with inquiries related to their medical records or registration process, providing clear and courteous communication. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations regarding confidentiality, data security, and record retention policies. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate seamless patient flow and accurate documentation of services provided. Organize and file physical or digital medical records systematically for easy retrieval during audits or patient visits. Manage high-volume inbound telecommunications with professionalism and courtesy. Skills Prior experience working in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems for data entry, retrieval, and management of patient information. Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation and communicate effectively within the healthcare team. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in record-keeping and registration processes. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while adhering to privacy laws such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Effective communication skills to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives. Familiarity with medical records management practices, including filing systems and document retention standards.
