The Patient Service Representative Lead serves as a subject matter expert and point of contact for the Patient Service Representative team, in addition to functioning as a Patient Service Representative. Patient Service Representative Lead duties include daily office activities and monitoring office procedures. This position resolves problems through collaboration with the director and manager to ensure smooth operations. As a Lead, this position will assist in the development of department staffing, provide guidance and education for staff, identify department process improvements, and solve patient care issues to meet the standards and expectations of the department.

Provides guidance and education for existing staff. Assists in identifying department process improvements. Provides guidance to others in same position. Functions as Electronic Health Record superuser. Acts in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Participates in project and process improvement meetings as assigned. Performs and/or delegate quality control logs. Floats to fill in with other duties as needed Provides expertise in the areas of insurance company and information exchange sites. Administrative/Greeter Instantly acknowledges patients as they enter the clinic by making eye contact and welcoming them to the clinic. Provides information to patients and visitors and others making inquiries at the front desk. Operates multiple phone line system per appropriate established procedures. Performs general filing and typing/keying as needed. Schedules all appointment types. Patient Accounts and Registration Upon initial contact, interviews patient or their representative, to obtain demographic and billing information. Assists patients in completing the appropriate registration forms. Verifies insurance coverage eligibility and ensures insurance information is entered properly in the system; including current insurance card. Coordinate with patients to explore healthcare coverage options as appropriate (i.e. Charity Care, Patient Navigator). Scanning Helps with oversight of receiving digitizes or hardcopy patient documents and ensures they are integrated into the electronic medical record system. Assures integrity of the medical record by performing quality checks on scanned documents for proper entry and scanning. Organizes the document images by indexing all scanned documents to proper locations within the electronic medical record. Office Duties Organizes administrative office files including maintaining office record keeping and filing systems according to hospital, state, and federal regulations. Ensure patient health information is always secure. Keep workspace tidy and free from clutter. May be required to float to other departments or clinics for coverage.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required At least one year of patient service representative experience. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). Preferred Two years Patient Service Representative experience. Associates Degree in business, communication, or other related field.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The responsibilities of this role are carried out in a traditional office setting. Primarily stationary with occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching carrying, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 20lbs. The position requires continuous finger dexterity and fine manipulation. The employee must demonstrate the ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. $23.00 - $38.00 Actual pay offered will vary based on years of experience.
