Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Benefits Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this vital role, you will manage and administer employee benefits programs, ensuring seamless delivery and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Your expertise will support our organization's commitment to fostering a positive employee experience by providing clear communication, accurate data management, and responsive service. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence employee satisfaction and contribute to our company's overall HR strategy through effective benefits administration. Responsibilities Administer a comprehensive range of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), workers' compensation, and other voluntary benefits. Utilize HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms Manage benefits enrollment processes, including new hire onboarding, open enrollment periods, and life event changes, while providing clear guidance to employees. Ensure compliance with employment & labor law regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and regulatory reporting requirements. Collaborate with payroll teams to ensure correct deductions and contributions are processed accurately within systems Handle employee inquiries regarding benefits options, contracts, employee evaluation processes, and employee relations issues with professionalism and clarity. Support training & development initiatives related to benefits programs and conduct employee orientation sessions to familiarize new hires with available offerings. Analyze benefits data for reporting purposes using data collection and analysis skills; prepare reports for management on benefit utilization and compliance metrics. Qualifications Proven experience in benefits administration within a human resources environment, with familiarity in managing FMLA, workers' compensation, HIPAA compliance, and employment law. Strong knowledge of HRIS systems experience with payroll systems is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefit options clearly to employees at all levels. Demonstrated negotiation skills for vendor management and contract review related to benefits offerings. Familiarity with regulatory standards including Medicare regulations and ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act). Ability to analyze data effectively for reporting purposes using tools such as Salesforce or other ERP systems like PeopleSoft or Kronos. Experience in training & development activities related to HR policies and benefits programs is a plus.
