Job Description:
Our client in The Woodlands is seeking an experienced Human Resources Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join their growing organization. This role will oversee end-to-end payroll processing and employee benefits administration while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and company regulations. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, experienced with high-volume payroll, and comfortable working cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and leadership teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process bi-weekly payroll through Workday for hourly and multi-shift employees, including overtime, bonuses, and adjustments Verify timecards, attendance records, PTO balances, and shift differentials Maintain accurate payroll and benefits records within
HRIS/ERP
systems Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, 401(k), and COBRA Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, wage laws, and reporting requirements Reconcile payroll discrepancies, benefit deductions, and tax withholdings Prepare payroll and labor reporting for HR and Finance leadership Support onboarding and offboarding processes including new-hire setup and benefits orientation Assist with Workers' Compensation, unemployment claims, and related reporting Partner with HR leadership on payroll and process improvement initiatives
Qualifications :
6+ years of payroll, benefits, or HR operations experience Hands-on Workday payroll experience required Experience processing payroll for hourly/non-exempt employees in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred Strong understanding of benefits administration, including 401(k), COBRA, and healthcare enrollment Knowledge of employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and payroll compliance regulations Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus Global payroll or HR experience is a plus
