Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to support a non-profit organization in Okemos, Michigan through a Contract assignment. This role is well suited for someone who can manage payroll activities with accuracy, maintain organized records, and work effectively with part-time staff such as counselors and other employees. The position focuses on biweekly payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 60 employees while ensuring timely collection and review of submitted timesheets.
Responsibilities:
  • Administer biweekly payroll for roughly 60 employees, ensuring wages are calculated accurately and paid on schedule.
  • Review, verify, and organize employee timesheets submitted for payroll processing, following established procedures and deadlines.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Address payroll discrepancies by researching hours, pay details, deductions, and related employee information.
  • Process payroll adjustments such as garnishments and other required withholdings in compliance with applicable guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal contacts to gather missing or incomplete timekeeping information before payroll deadlines.
  • Support ongoing payroll operations for part-time team members, including counselors and similar staff groups.
  • Work an every-other-week schedule from Monday through Thursday aligned with the organization's payroll cycle.
