Job Description
Job Summary Advantage Dirt Contractors, Inc is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & General Accounting Specialist to support payroll and accounting operations within a construction environment. This role works with both union and non-union employees and requires experience with all payroll and general accounting practices. This job description is not intended to be all‑inclusive. Additional duties may be required to support operations and project needs. Payroll Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll for union and non-union employees using Foundation Software and QuickBooks.
- Apply union collective bargaining agreements including wage rates, fringes, and deductions
- Calculate and track fringe benefits and union dues
- Complete required monthly union reports and remittances
- Prepare and submit certified payroll reports for prevailing wage projects, if applicable
- Maintain accurate payroll records
- Ensure compliance with all labor and wage regulations
- Maintain and manage employee profiles in Foundation Software, as well as employee personnel files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Prepare and/or assist with quarterly State and Federal payroll tax submissions. General Accounting Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for additional entities using QuickBooks
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable using Foundation Software
- Assist with job cost accounting and reconciliations
- Support quarterly and year-end processing
- Assist with construction job setup, billing, and change order documentation for construction projects.
- Provide support to project managers on active construction projects. Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction/union payroll experience
- Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements and prevailing wage requirements
- Experience with Foundation Software
- Experience with QuickBooks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $104,000.00 per yearBenefits:
