Job Description
Description We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support a high-volume payroll operation for a leading organization in the Energy/Natural Resources industry based in Englewood, Colorado. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong payroll expertise in large employee populations and can maintain precision in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on accurate weekly payroll execution, construction-related pay practices, and compliance with applicable wage and hour regulations. This role is FULLY onsite in Englewood, CO.
Responsibilities:
- Administer weekly payroll for a workforce of about 4,000 employees, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on schedule.
- Use Spectrum and HCSS platforms to complete payroll activities, maintain records, and generate reporting as needed.
- Oversee payroll matters related to construction teams, including validation of prevailing wage calculations and related pay requirements.
- Monitor payroll practices to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local laws, as well as internal standards.
- Research payroll variances, identify root causes, and resolve employee pay issues promptly and professionally.
- Review payroll data for completeness and accuracy before final submission, reducing errors and rework.
- Prepare and maintain payroll documentation that supports audits, reporting needs, and compliance reviews. Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle payroll processing in a high-volume environment.
- Background handling payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees.
- Hands-on experience with weekly payroll administration.
- Working knowledge of Spectrum software for payroll processing.
- Experience using HCSS or similar payroll-related systems.
- Familiarity with construction payroll practices, including prevailing wage requirements.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance across federal, state, and local regulations.
- Proven ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve payroll issues with accuracy and urgency.
