PCA Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to elderly, disabled, ill and memory compromised persons in a residential care facility. The ideal candidate will assist with daily living activities, ensuring comfort, independence, safety and well-being. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality care to individuals in need, contributing to their overall health and quality of life. Must be able to work the Noc shift and Saturdays and Sundays. Responsibilities Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents. Monitor and report changes in residents' conditions to supervising staff. Help with mobility assistance, including transferring residents to and from beds or wheelchairs. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to hygiene standards. Document resident care activities accurately in compliance with regulations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. Qualifications Previous experience as a Personal Care Assistant or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of basic resident care techniques and safety protocols within residential care facility settings. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Ability to work compassionately with diverse populations, including dementia and Alzheimer's. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in personal care or healthcare support are a plus. Willingness to learn and adapt within a dynamic healthcare environment.
