PCA Personal Care Assistant

We are seeking a reliable caregiver/PCA in our Lino Lakes home to care for our 24-year-old son who is developmentally delayed and has cerebral palsy. He is a loving, funny, and non-verbal adult on a toddler's developmental level. Medical experience or experience with kids/adults with special needs is not required but is a plus. There will be plenty of training involved to make sure the applicant is comfortable before being left alone with our son.

Duties include:

All daily living skills (toileting, dressing, brushing teeth, etc.), reading his favorite books, and watching movies with him. Helping him use a communication device. We are looking for a good self-starter that works well in a team environment; communicating with parents and other staff. This is the perfect job for college or high school students who want to go into the medical or Spec Ed fields or anyone looking for a part-time job.

Shift Requirement:

M/T 8:30am to 4:30pm, W/Th/F 8am - 1pm. The two full days can be any week day, but the current schedule is as stated. Payment will be made through Accra Care. Pay starts at $20/hour but is based on experience. All applicants will have a background check performed. Must be ok with dogs.
