Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide specialized occupational therapy services to children across various settings, including clinics, schools, outpatient facilities, and home health environments. Your expertise will help young patients develop essential skills to improve their independence, enhance their participation in daily activities, and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities Assess children's motor skills, sensory processing, coordination, and functional abilities to develop personalized treatment plans. Implement therapeutic interventions aimed at improving activities of daily living (ADLs), fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and sensory integration. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, physical therapists, educators, and medical professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Assist children with disabilities or developmental delays in achieving milestones through targeted therapy sessions. Support families by providing education on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and strategies for promoting skill development at home. Participate in discharge planning by evaluating progress and recommending ongoing therapies or community resources. Document patient progress meticulously and maintain accurate case management records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Valid licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist with specialization or experience in pediatrics. Proven experience working with children in diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, schools, inpatient units, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments. Knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and developmental milestones. Experience assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans tailored for pediatric patients with various disabilities or developmental challenges. Familiarity with early intervention programs, outpatient therapy services, inpatient care including ICU or acute care units, and post-acute care settings. Ability to work effectively with children who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), other developmental delays, or physical disabilities. Strong case management skills with a focus on discharge planning and patient-centered care strategies. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams while providing clear guidance on therapy goals. $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
