Peer Advocate

UConnectCare, Inc. is a rapidly expanding nonprofit organization located in WNY that has been offering help to those impacted by substance use disorder through prevention, treatment, and recovery services for over 50 years. UConnectCare has earned a local and regional reputation for excellence. As the opioid epidemic plagues our communities, ourf work is more relevant and critically needed than ever before. We are looking for amazing individuals who want to make a difference in the communities we serve. We have openings for Peer Recovery Advocates. Peers would assist in the development and monitoring of recovery systems of UConnectCare and will provide one-on-one recovery services and support to individuals. In addition they will provide linkage with other service providers in the community. These are grant funded positions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum HS diploma or certified high school equivalency. Must have or be willing to obtain Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) - Provisional certification within the first six months of employment.

INDIVIDUALS IN RECOVERY - STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. INCLUDE COVER LETTER WITH RESUME REGARDING YOUR INTEREST.

Preferred knowledge of community-based recovery services, substance use disorder counseling, and family systems. Must have valid NYS license and method of transportation. Scheduled work hours will be flexible to provide maximum coverage as needed and may vary accordingly to include weekdays, weekends, and/or evenings. Must be addiction free, including tobacco. Pre-employment background/post offer drug screening required for external candidates. This is an hourly nonexempt position.
