Peer Recovery Support Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

: Provides oversight of peer support services as part of a multi-disciplinary team for individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorder. Manages daily tasks of Certified Peer Recovery Supporters as they work with clients to enhance their recovery, assisting clients in developing self-regulation, interpersonal skills, and appropriate behavioral responses in residential and community settings. The Supervisor is responsible for general oversight, as well as conducting routine supervisions, employee placement and development, as well as clinical quality and documentation.

The Peer Recovery Support Supervisor performs an integral role in carrying out the mission of The Counseling Center, Inc.

by performing the following duties:

Provides direct oversight for assigned personnel, ensuring they work to support client recovery in an effective, compliant, and clinically-appropriate manner. Provides training for staff to ensure they are properly equipped to meet and exceed expectations. Manages work schedules to provide adequate coverage at times appropriate for client needs. Reviews, signs off, and corrects documentation and clinical services as required. Manages cost center/budget as appropriate to their role. Maintains current training and skills as a clinical professional and ensures competency of direct reports. Manages performance among direct reports to maintain quality services. Corrects, and addresses performance issues as applicable. Maintains required licensures and credentials to the position. Attends agency staff meetings, conferences, and individual and group sessions and supervisions. Serves on designated committees as assigned. Attains established standards of productivity and quality. Documents clinically-relevant observations, behaviors, and activities/services to inform the treatment team of client progress and needs. Observes rules of clinical confidentiality, both internally and with external agencies or persons. Understands client rights and associated policies and procedures. Participates in staff training and development. Maintains professional standards and appearance at all times. Observes their respective professional Code of Ethics and agency standards of conduct. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

: Certified Peer Recovery Supporter in Ohio or ability to obtain successfully within 2 months of start date. Associates degree in relevant field of study (or higher), and an LCDC2 license (or higher), along with Peer Supporter Supervisor Certification (or ability to obtain successfully within 2 months of start date) to enable clinical oversight of Peer Recovery Supporters. Personally lived experience of mental health and/or substance use disorder(s). Minimum 1 year of successful experience working as a Residential Support Services Specialist (RSS), Case Manager, or Clinical Provider, with preference given to individuals that posses experience working in both a residential and clinical setting.
