PEER SPECIALIST/ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT

Position Overview:

Restoration Society, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and motivated Peer Specialist to provide outreach and peer support to individuals with mental health conditions in a residential setting. This role focuses on promoting recovery, empowerment, and wellness through peer engagement and supportive activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide peer support and outreach to individuals Assist in developing self-advocacy skills and peer support networks Facilitate individual and group meetings that promote wellness, empowerment, and development of daily living skills within a residential setting Serve as a role model and advocate, supporting residents in areas related to social determinants of health, personal growth, and engagement in daily activities Support recreational and therapeutic activities within the residence

Required Qualifications:

Must identify as a peer (current or former recipient of mental health services) High School Diploma or equivalent Willing and able to assist individuals with mobility issues in and out of agency vehicles Flexible schedule availability, including weekends as needed Clean NYS driver's license and reliable vehicle Must pass OMH background check

Preferred Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience providing mental health peer services NYS Academy of Peer Specialist Certification preferred; if not currently certified, must obtain certification within the first year of employment (currently at no cost to the employee) Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE)
