Workload Management:
  • Provides direct supervision, mentoring, and performance management to Peer Support Specialists.
  • Ensures timely completion of all paperwork requirements by all supervisees.
  • Provides consultation and support to staff members when acute clinical problems or emergencies arise. Assists in their short-term resolution.
  • With the Director, ensures that problems impacting care delivery are solved and that system barriers to meeting client needs are addressed and resolved whenever possible.
  • Tracks and evaluates workload volumes of their staff and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Tracks and evaluates staffing levels to best meet program/departmental priorities.
  • Provides comprehensive and equitable performance evaluations for those employees in their reporting line.
  • Inspects weekly timesheet to ensure accurate and thorough completion by their employees within stated deadline.
  • Provides direct service at a rate equal to or greater than the prevailing agency standard.
Quality of Work:
  • Complies with all agency clinical, safety and employment policies and practices. Assists staff in understanding and following these policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that the agency's confidentiality standards are consistently followed.
  • Manages staff time and case assignments in an effort to support the broadest service capacity possible with available resources and to meet contractual and/or fidelity obligations.
  • Enforces safe work practices and procedures. Encourages employees to identify unsafe or unhealthful workplace conditions or hazards.
  • Promotes adherence to professional boundaries and ethical standards specific to peer services.
Training Outcomes & Development:
  • Ensures that peer support specialists have the necessary skills to support the delivery of high quality recover-oriented services.
  • Completes all trainings required to be certified as a Peer Support Specialist in the State of New Hampshire and successfully completes the state exam within designated timeframe.
  • Supports professional development and certification compliance for peer staff.
  • Conducts periodic training to agency staff related to content of need and value to staff.
  • Facilitates staff identifying areas of training needs, either for areas of relative weakness or areas for expanded competency.
  • Facilitates and directs staff to either internal or external trainings that support those needs.
  • Participates in all training as outlined in the employee's most recent training/development plan.
  • Assesses professional competencies of supervisees and makes recommendations for their professional growth.
  • Accesses and utilizes agency resources on the Intranet to include the electronic health record, payroll, timekeeping, benefits, policies, etc.
Communications & Customer Service:
  • Participates on multidisciplinary clinical teams either as a team member or team leader, as needed.
  • Communicates in a timely manner to Human Resources, Clinical Practice Manager and Director of workforce changes to include new hires, transfers, promotions, change in work schedule (to include hours per week), and resignations in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with Quality Improvement Specialist to coordinate and develop quality improvement plans related to any external inspection, audit or review.
  • Obtains necessary information for State audits and other reviews, as requested.
  • Represents the agency effectively and conducts themselves professionally within meetings with internal and external participants.
  • Provides courteous, respectful and prompt service to both internal and external customers at a quality level that meets or exceeds the standards set forth by the Policy #214.
  • Regularly attends all required meetings and participates in a manner that is value-added to the specific meeting objectives.
  • Informs Human Resources of issues or concerns regarding employee performance and/or behavior and provides related documentation within 5 working days of incident or discussion with employee.
  • Collaborates effectively with Human Resources in support of the hiring and orientation process through screening, interviewing, hiring and orientation of new employees and provide Human Resources related information in a timely manner.
Initiative and Engagement:
  • Monitors caseloads and stays up-to-date on the clinical situation, needs, and progress of clients in care.
  • Proactively informs Director of important issues and challenges within the program.
  • Proactively recommends ways to improve clinical efficiency and effectiveness, ways to improve client and staff satisfaction, and ways to improve financial performance.
  • Identifies existing or potential issues, problem solves, and communicates possible solutions to Director or a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Follows agency policies and procedures and best-practice standards.
  • Collaborates with clinical leadership to integrate peer services within treatment teams.
  • Provides clinical staff with education on recover-oriented services and the role of the peer support specialist

  • Effectively adjusts his/her style to fit varied situations and people.
  • Promotes positive relationships and work environment through courteous, clear and effective communication.
  • Provides courteous, helpful, timely, and respectful service to those they service, both within West Central and to clients and members of the community at large.

  • Effectively gets work done through others by delegating assignments, soliciting input and trusting people to complete work.

Three to five years' experience in a clinical team setting, plus at least one year of supervisory experience preferred
