Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A per diem Staff Pharmacist opportunity is available to provide essential pharmacy services in a long-term care and mail order environment. This evening shift position runs Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with every other weekend scheduled, perfect for pharmacists seeking flexible hours with consistent evening availability. The assignment includes approximately 5.5 weeks of work.
Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal regulations. Monitor patient medication adherence and detect patterns of overuse. Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files. Advise patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer any medication-related inquiries. Provide counseling on prescription and over-the-counter drugs regarding storage, dosage, and drug interactions. Offer patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper use of medical devices including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Compound medications for both internal and external use following sterile preparation procedures. Supervise and support pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory to maintain appropriate stock levels. Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare providers to address drug-related patient issues.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Current Pennsylvania pharmacy license required. Previous pharmacy experience essential. Experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings is highly desirable.
