Kids Wow Show provides Princess and Character entertainment for birthday parties, private events, community events, and special celebrations throughout Chicago, Chicagoland, and surrounding areas of Illinois. We are looking for experienced performers who already have a background in theater, acting, children's entertainment, character entertainment, or similar performance work. This is a paid, flexible, event-based position and a great opportunity for actresses and entertainers who enjoy working with children and would like to continue performing as Princesses and Characters. Compensation $60-$90 per 1-hour event This is a flat event rate, not an hourly employment rate. The rate is based on the individual event and may vary depending on the character, event requirements, experience, and location. Additional opportunities may be available for longer events and other Kids Wow Show programs. Responsibilities Perform as designated Princess or Character while maintaining character integrity throughout the event Bring characters to life through acting, voice, movement, and personality Interact with children and families in a friendly, positive, and engaging manner Lead age-appropriate games, activities, storytelling, and character interactions Participate in dancing, singing, and other interactive activities when appropriate for the character Take photos and create memorable moments with children and families Stay in character throughout the performance Follow character guidelines, event instructions, and performance expectations Participate in occasional rehearsals, costume fittings, and training Maintain a professional appearance and presentation while in costume Work independently at different event locations while representing Kids Wow Show professionally Who We're Looking For Previous performance or entertainment experience is required. We are looking for candidates with experience in: Theater or acting Musical theater Children's entertainment Princess parties Character entertainment Dance or singing Live performances Improv Cosplay or character work Other professional entertainment We are especially interested in performers who have already worked as Princesses, Characters, Actors, or Children's Entertainers and would like to take on additional character roles. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Energetic, expressive, and charismatic Confident interacting with children and families Comfortable performing in front of groups A strong improviser who can think on their feet Comfortable staying in character Warm, friendly, and engaging Reliable and punctual Professional and responsible Comfortable wearing costumes, wigs, and stage makeup Comfortable with singing, dancing, or movement when required by the character Available primarily on weekends Comfortable traveling to different event locations Resume Required Please submit a resume with your application. A performance reel, portfolio, or professional photos are also welcome. Costumes & Materials Kids Wow Show provides the character costumes and necessary performance materials. Depending on the character, this may include: Costume Wig Accessories Props Music Character guidelines Activity materials Training and character guidance will be provided as needed. Local Travel Required This is a mobile entertainment position. Our events take place throughout Chicago, Chicagoland suburbs, and other parts of Illinois. You may perform at private homes, event venues, community centers, parks, schools, and other event locations. Reliable personal transportation is required. You must be comfortable driving to different locations for individual bookings. The exact event location will be provided before each booking is accepted. Flexible Event-Based Schedule Most events take place on weekends, especially Saturdays and Sundays, although weekday opportunities may also be available. You will have the opportunity to accept events based on your availability.
