Description:
Liars and Believers is seeking an actor to play CapCap, the blue clown, in our long runningedy, Yellow Bird Chase. This is a national touring show, with new dates added as they are offered. The position requires scheduling flexibility, a valid passport and Real ID, self sufficiency, and a willingness to collaborate. A sense of humor is essential.
SHOW DESCRIPTION A
bumbling maintenance crew finds a magical yellow bird, and the mad chase begins. Racing over land, across the sea, and through the air, battling pirates and monsters, how far will our heroes go… without ever leaving the storage room?

Yellow Bird Chase uses Clown, physical theatre, masks, puppets, gibberish, and an enormous imagination. Video and photos go to liarsandbelievers/show/yellow-bird-chase
Rehearsal Dates & Location:
TBD, but possibly beginning as soon as September 1.
Tour Dates:
October 20-26, 2026 Auditioners cannot have conflicts during this time.

Segerstrom Center for the
Arts, Costa Mesa, California Salary:
We pay $25/hr. Approximately $500/rehearsal week and $1,000/touring week. Tour transportation, housing, and food will be provided.
Qualifications:
ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role has previously been performed by both male and female identifying actors. We wee performers of all gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations and ethnicities. CapCap is based on the Commedia dell'Arte character, Capitano. CapCap is the boss and thinks they are smart and brave. In reality, CapCap is a coward, lazy, and an idiot. This role requires great physicality. CapCap climbs, falls, gets bonked on the head, tumbles, and receives several spit takes in the face. This actor must take direction quickly, have good balance, creative instincts, and most importantly, the ability to play well with others. Experience in clown,media, mask, acrobatics, dance, etc., are a plus. Actors must have excellent improvisation skills and a willingness to leap before looking.
