Job Description

The Department of Performing Arts at Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of Dance for the fall and/or spring semesters beginning September 9, 2026. This position is to choreograph for the Student and Alumni Fall Dance Show and/or for the Rider Dances 2027 Concert . All choreographers at Rider are onboarded as adjunct faculty and should be prepared to maintain a Canvas page, create a syllabus, and align with departmental goals for the rehearsal process. For the Fall 2026 show, we are looking for alumni of Rider University who are emerging choreographers, working in a professional capacity, and seeking to broaden their resume. For the Rider Dances 2027 concert, we are looking for choreographers working in Jazz, Acrobatics, African Diasporic Dance, Dance and New Technologies, and Hip Hop Modalities. Choreographers for Rider Dances 2027 will be working in close collaboration with the show's Director to create a seamless evening of work. All choreographers should send a video sample of your choreography to mmazarick@rider.edu S alary is $4,215.98 for a 3-credit course. Please note that a full course is considered to have 9 students enrolled in the course. If a section is not full, 8 or fewer enrollees, the salary is prorated based on the number of students enrolled in the course. BA or BFA in dance, choreography, a related degree field, or equivalent professional experience. Experience choreographing dances at the regional or national level. Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required. MA or MFA in dance or related field National/international profile as a choreographer or performer. Experience teaching in a university.
