Scene:

Niki, a soft-spoken piano tuner afflicted with a rare disorder known as hyperacusis, which causes hypersensitive hearing to everyday sounds, is hired to tune a piano at a prestigious music institution. There, he encounters Ruthie, a high-strung, ultra-competitive concert pianist who is focused on preparing a composition to help her win a musical apprenticeship with a world-renowned composer. She discovers to her surprise that Niki has perfect pitch and a virtuoso-like talent at the piano, which ignites her jealousy and intrigue regarding his musical background.
