Job Description

Job Summary Powerhouse Dance Complex is seeking an experienced and passionate Hip-Hop Dance Instructor to join our growing team. We are looking for an instructor who truly understands hip-hop culture, musicality, rhythm, freestyle, and the foundations of hip-hop movement —not simply jazz technique performed to hip-hop music. Our goal is to provide authentic hip-hop training while helping dancers develop confidence, performance quality, and a strong understanding of the art form. Position Details Part-time evening position Teaching dancers ages 7-18 Potential opportunity to teach adult classes Choreography opportunities available Additional opportunities may be available for workshops, camps, and special events Responsibilities Teach age-appropriate hip-hop classes for beginner through advanced dancers Create engaging lesson plans that develop technique, rhythm, musicality, and performance skills Educate students on hip-hop foundations, culture, and movement styles Maintain a positive, professional, and encouraging classroom environment Choreograph routines for performances, showcases, and potential competition opportunities Communicate professionally with studio leadership and families Qualifications Strong background in hip-hop dance and culture Experience teaching children and teens preferred Knowledge of multiple hip-hop styles and foundations Ability to connect with and motivate dancers of varying ages and skill levels Reliable, professional, and committed to student growth Previous dance studio teaching experience is a plus What We Are Looking For We are specifically seeking a hip-hop instructor. At this time, we are not looking for jazz, jazz-funk, lyrical, contemporary, or other dance styles. We are searching for someone who can bring authentic hip-hop training, knowledge, energy, and culture into the classroom.
