General Statement of Duties:
Join the spirit squad! We are building a pool of enthusiastic, reliable, and energetic people to serve as our official campus mascot performer. As the face (and personality) of MWCC's spirit, you'll represent Monty at campus events and community functions?bringing joy, school pride, and high-energy engagement everywhere you go. This is a flexible, as-needed position ideal for individuals with performance experience, school spirit, and a passion for entertaining while in costume. When event opportunities become available, candidates from this pool will be considered to fill the role.Responsibilities:
Perform as the official mascot at events on and off MWCC campus(es) (Gardner, Leominster and remote locations as needed) Engage with students, staff, and the public in a friendly and professional manner Participate in orientation, open houses, graduations, and other special college functions Follow safety and costume care guidelines Work with event staff to coordinate appearances and timing Represent the college with enthusiasm, creativity, and inclusivityRequirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills High energy, reliable, and enthusiastic about school spirit Comfortable performing and entertaining in front of crowds Ability to work in costume, which may include heat, limited vision, and movement restrictions Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends Commitment to exceptional personal hygieneDesired Qualifications:
MWCC student in good academic standing Experience in theater, dance, cheer, or mascot performance Height between 5'4" and 6'2" for costume fit (multiple students will be selected for size flexibility)AUDITION/VETTING PROCESS
Selected applicants from the hiring pool will be invited to participate in a brief audition or vetting session, including light movement and improvisation exercises.ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS
Applicants should be aware of the physical nature of mascot performance. The college may require a waiver or notice related to potential risks, including heat, limited visibility, and physical activity while in costume. Safety is a top priority, and basic training will be provided. Equivalency Statement Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.Additional Information:
