Job Description

Overview The Don Tyson School of Innovation Choir program is seeking an assistant choral director. DTSOI is part of the Springdale School District. The assistant director will teach choirs in grades 6th-12th, as well as assist the head director. For more information, please contact Cindy Kee, ckee@sdale.org. Join the DTSOI Choral Team as an Assistant Choir Director, where your passion for music and leadership will inspire voices to soar! In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with the Head Choir Director to develop engaging rehearsals, nurture talented singers, and foster a welcoming environment for all choir members. Your energetic approach and strong communication skills will help elevate performances and cultivate a love for choral music within our organization. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your teaching and mentoring skills while making a meaningful impact through music. Responsibilities Assist the Choir Director in planning and executing rehearsals that are lively, organized, and inspiring. Lead sectional rehearsals to focus on specific vocal parts, ensuring clarity and confidence among singers. Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to choir members to enhance their vocal technique and performance skills. Support the selection of repertoire that challenges singers while maintaining engagement and enjoyment. Help coordinate concert preparations, including staging, choreography, and sound checks. Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages teamwork, discipline, and musical excellence. Communicate effectively with choir members about rehearsal schedules, performance details, and other relevant updates. Requirements Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate diverse groups of singers. Excellent communication skills to clearly convey musical concepts and feedback. Demonstrated mentoring skills to support singers' growth at all levels. Knowledge of vocal techniques, music theory, and repertoire selection. Ability to work collaboratively with the Choir Director and other team members in a fast-paced environment. Passion for fostering a love of choral music and developing emerging talent. Pay:
$58,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
